Rule Definitions
Helpful clarifications
These are terms, acronyms, and lingo commonly used during the average round of Trouble in Terrorist Town, and terms in the rules. Please see the F1 menu for basics of the gamemode.
TTT
Trouble in Terrorist Town, a popular game mode in Garry's Mod where players are randomly assigned roles (Innocents, Traitors, or Detectives) and must figure out who the traitors are.
Innocent (Commonly shortened to Inno)
A role in TTT. Innocents are the majority of players whose goal is to survive and identify traitors. They can't kill unless they are certain someone is a traitor.
Traitor (Also just shortened to "T")
A role in TTT. Traitors are tasked with eliminating all innocents and detectives without being discovered.
Detective (Similarly shortened to "D")
A special innocent role with access to special equipment to help identify traitors. They can purchase items like DNA scanners and health stations to assist innocents.
DNA Scanner
A detective's tool used to scan the bodies of players for DNA left behind by their killer. It helps detectives track down the murderer.
KOS (Kill on Sight)
A declaration made by players when they believe someone is a traitor. Calling KOS on another player means others are expected to kill the targeted player immediately.
T-Trap (Traitor Trap)
Hidden traps in the map that can be activated only by traitors to kill or mislead other players.
T-Baiting (Traitor Baiting)
Acting suspiciously or pretending to be a traitor to provoke a reaction from other players, often leading to RDM. This is against the rules.
T-Tester (Traitor Tester)
A device found on some maps that allows players to be tested for their role. If a player is a traitor, the tester will indicate it.
Prop Kill/Prop Killing
Using physics props (like barrels or boxes) to kill other players, often done creatively or unexpectedly.
RDM
Random Deathmatching - Killing other players without valid reason. In TTT, valid reasons include witnessing someone commit a Traitorous act or following clear evidence in line with the game mechanics.
OTF (On The Floor)
A phrase used by traitors when they throw items or weapons onto the floor, signaling to fellow traitors or misleading other players.
HS (Headshot)
A kill or damage done by shooting a player in the head, often resulting in instant death in TTT.
Karma
A system that tracks player behavior. If a player RDMs or kills teammates, their karma decreases, reducing the damage they deal in future rounds. Consistent RDMing can result in a ban or kick.
Body ID (Body Identification)
After a player dies, others can "ID" the body to reveal their role and how they died. This helps the innocent team know who to trust or suspect.
Power Round (PR)
A round with modified rules or mechanics. These are often added to spice up the gameplay.
PAC3
A Garry's Mod addon that allows players to create custom outfits, animations, and props, often used to add visual customization in servers.
Traitorous Acts
Killing, including killing a Detective, entering a Traitor only area, posessing/wielding a Traitor weapon, progressing toward an objective that results in Traitors winning upon completion, or stopping/interrupting/disrupting a an Innocent winning objective.
Sus/Suspicious
Someone that may or may not be a traitor based on the way they are acting, or perceived to be acting.
Hacking/Cheating
Any form of cheating software or exploit that gives an unfair advantage (e.g., wallhacks, aimbots, etc.).
Exploiting
Using unintended game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage (e.g., map glitches, invisible spots).
Spamming
Flooding chat, voice chat, or in-game actions with repetitive or disruptive content, including soundboards, memes, or excessive pinging.
Ghosting/Metagaming
Communicating outside the game to give unfair information about the round. This includes revealing Traitors or Innocents to other players through external communication like Discord.
DoS/DDoS Attacks
Any attempt to disrupt the server or other players by launching or threatening a Denial of Service (DoS), Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), or other similar attack.
Threats
Any form of threat, whether directed towards another player, staff member, or the community at large (including but not limited to violence, hacking, or real-world harm)
Reporting Rulebreakers
An Easy Guide
If staff is currently online and active use @ before typing a chat message to send it to admins. If no admin is available, note the player's name username, SteamID, record a clip of them breaking the rules, and the current time in Eastern Time (USA). Make a report on the Discord server.
